Cynthia G. Mason (US,2000)***
With a (slightly breathy and conscious) voice colour comparable to for instance Veda Hille, the music of Cynthia G. Mason is (without as much musical experiment as Veda) lush indierock, singersongwriter styled. First track, “Measure” has organ, Cocteau twins guitar vibrating strumming on background, guitar, bass and drums, and some additional glockenspiel, while “ ‘95” has violin and double bass or cello plucks and stringed arrangements, besides the acoustic slowly accompanying acoustic guitar. The other tracks vary between these kinds of arrangements, always convincing in bringing the song expression to the front with a good production creating a pleasing moody effect. A fine album.

Cynthia G. Mason : demo EP (US,2005)***'
The 5 track demo is somewhat more acoustically arranged but has similar qualities of expression. There’s some appearance of trumpet with double bass to the acoustic guitar.
