Follow The River : Gone for a walk (B,2010)***
Follow The River sounds like a never ending story of instrumental tracks based upon acoustic and electrified guitar, electric bass and drums. Written over a longer period this makes also some variety, ranging from jazz guitar to rockier tracks but with a common relaxed and sophisticated mood led by guitar mostly playing tasteful jazz-guitar, very melodically, descriptive, meandering tracks. There are small arrangements with sax (Nicolas Dory on 4) and clarinet (Auélie Charneux on 1,2,12). “Riff To Rent” is rockier and has a funky bass element too. Outside the mood it is very unclear what this collection leads to. It works like a diary with different pages, written by a common sense vision but with no prescribed destiny given.
The members are active in the Belgian new music/jazz scene in bands like The Garett List Ensemble, Animus Anima, The Riffing Society and the Pierre Verloesem ensemble.
