More Alpine “ur-folk” on Percht, after Sturmpercht, this is their Swiss equivalent. The lead vocals are in between spoken word and nearly-singing with a low voice giving something odd and dark to the songs. However you cannot say the songs themselves are dark at all. You can hear old songs and texts of spoken word in Swiss dialect spoken by some old mountain man (hard to understand when you know German only). Some of it has danceable qualities in its origin, the atmosphere remains like a dark vision. Strummed guitars are accompanied by drum rhythms of near marching quality and also accordion. There are also atmospheric tracks with keyboard drones, cow bells and spoken word. Most different is “Simelibärg” with an original near-religious choir piece as an introduction and ending, with some female singers in between the neo-folk singing.
