the neo-folk of
Jännerwein

CD (2008)

HeimatfolkJännerwein : Abendläuten (Ö,2008)***

From Salzburg this is a trio which plays in a 'traditional' neofolk style of always sad songs, related with their area and themes of loneliness or local Christianity, enriched with some folk instruments here and there like hurdy-gurdy, bouzouki or violin,... It is really nice music but so many sad songs, still rather limited in range, despite the dedication, personally this becomes a bit too much for me. It saddens.
