"Except for the first track, there's a Midwinter/ Caedmon/ Shide & Acorn like atmosphere in this one, with very breakable and fragile female voice. A bit more primitive such as UK underground folk, with only just guitar/flute female vocals. The female singer, Caroline Fritzon has a very beautiful colour in voice (even in "Garden of Jane Delawney"). Only left recordings as this duo were this collection of demo's and live recordings. So, it is not all perfect, but everything has a certain charm and flair. The acoustic guitar accompaniment of Peter is excellent (also on his own finger picking tune "Castlebury Fair"). Also his own songs benefit from being sung by Caroline. Recommended to fans of 70's UK underground acid folk. Still a real pity this collection hasn't been recorded in a studio".  (This is our favorite album of Peter). (Only 200 made. Be quick) !

Domestica                                        Peter Scion : Tree Music (S,1997)***

Peter's voice is more like an instrument, but not a very good tuned instrument, so it stays on the background. In that way the music is mostly depending on the atmosphere. Peter luckily knows that and creates his music how it is needed to be at its best. The slow songs succeed in creating this atmosphere. When he ups the tempo, he becomes too wordy and the singing line becomes less melodic, "busker" like. The long "willow moon" track acording to L.W. becomes tedious at 8'18". "Cloak of Shame" we like both very much (it's again in the 70's psych folk vein). "These darkened Trees" is a UK styled underground folk song. Only sadly and unfortunatly Peter's voice is not always that emotive (as S.T.Michael's voice is). The music itself (folk chords & slowly out of tune sitar) is really very nice, but the intention is still better than the execution. Last track "The Dance to the witch's visit" is a beautiful Psych folk open tune song, a bit sounding like Siloah's first. Also interesting is that the themes on this one are thematically build around "trees" songs." (only 200 made).
Domestica                                 Peter Scion : The Amethyst Dream (S,1997)° (PVHF grading)

"Nice opening tune with harmonium. Second track keeps on opening becoming one dimensional, even with the excuse of psychedelic folk music it becomes tedious again. The same can be said of track 3 : too much of a love affair with open tuning. Also the two following long tracks have a few interesting musical elements appearing contracted by dirge like vocals and overlong repetitions. Self-indulgent. Consciously into the neo psych folk territory. Disappointing." L.Woolfe.

P.S. : "I'm still sure this will appeal to the newer trance/stoned psych listeners." G.V.W.
Domestica                                       Peter Scion : Through my ghost (S,2002)**°

"Starts with unpromising post sixties TV theme music. The third track sounds a bit like Peter Grudzien. The fifth track "Funny" finally is coming across. The created atmosphere is this time followed with expressions that have more emotion. The vocal in this instant joins the mood created by the guitar. The electric guitar goes on too much to the point you forget the song but it is never the less really very enjoyable. "Glad for you" has something similar in emotions. "The Devil is a Watcher" is deliberately more electric guitar psychedelia with later on some sitar, perfectly fitting. Great ! "The Devilish Mother" musically is a good song with good ideas, but still it would have been better if there was a more mellifluous singer performing it." Of Peter's solo albums Lawrence Woolfe liked this album the most.
Conclusion of Peter Scion's solo work :

"Peter has a lot of very atmospheric musical ideas which unfortunately still are often either stretched out beyond their natural time or flawed by poor judgement as regards vocal melody lines. We are left with the impression that Peter's material would be better served with a strong collaboration of another vocalist, and another musician as well to counteract or to reign back his more indulgent moments structurally. In a sense he could be one of the top psychedelic folk artists with a little bit more self criticism and discipline only somewhat in the creativity but mostly in the practical realising of his ideas."  (We wouldn't botter writing about him if we would not recognize its full potential ).

A wonderful side project of Peter Scion :

"S.T.Michael is a talented singer-songwriter / psych musician. The cooperation of both musicians (and psych lovers) makes music is at his best, charming. It is in a more sophisticated early 70's (uk) psych folk s/sw atmosphere. Only a few tracks (particularly 4-6) were less essential. Still : recommended." (Only 200 made, so be quick !)
