Pure Luege : Law & Order (D,2003)*°°
Pure Luege (=Pure Lie) was founded in 80’s underground tape movement, pre-dating the Shiny Gnomes. Limo (in my pages mostly known for his psych-folk group Fit and Limo) was already then befriended with Stone Records man Riff (from psych group Cosmic Gardeners). Both were part of an underground scene using soft electronica, soft voices, with dreamy passages. Pure Luege did some tapes which were more pyschedelic but here there is only a little psychedelic reflection. It has its own kind of nice dreamy cosmic passages embedded in the Pop-electronica of this specific release. In the first half there are a few pop-like tracks. Tracks like “Mehr ist Anders” or “Ponieposie”, with catchy almost exotic & cosmic pop-electronica and slightly distorted sweet vocals, for me, shows one aspect from the group at its best. Limo’s sweet voice combines just perfectly with the electronica-pop based upon improvisational ideas (also Vital sings). Tracks like the longer instrumental “Tungsten” and perhaps “Jetzt” I think fit well with the German scenes of more sophisticated pop-electronica techno. Most of the tracks are pretty and somewhat optimistic psychpop-electronica.
