Bella Terra
Sandstone : Can You mend a Silver Thread ? (US,1972,re.2008)****
Some of the Bella Terra reissues disappointed me a bit. I was for instance somewhat annoyed by the degree of Christian naivety of Presence despite its nice style. But Sandstone luckily is different. It has a young, unspoiled less confronted energy in it (something which is comparable to a degree with Seventh Dawn, also on the same label) which makes it rather unique, creating a subtle mood in style which is much more typical for UK folk than for US albums, although just a few Christian folk albums indeed have this quality too. I have bought this one, and lately I have much less time to review albums so I will leave it to this remark. You can still read the official description. The 3-page liner notes were done by Rob Sevier (Numero Group). One of the most essential albums I heard from the label so far.
