"Seasonal Sevens : Summer" -single-:

Emily Scott : "Pond Dipping" / Helene Renaut : "Bumblebee" (UK,2009)***??
The label started a new series of seasonal singles. Part 1, on yellow vinyl is dedicated to summer and included two tracks, by Emily Scott and Hélène Renaut.
“Pond Dipping” are the happy reflections of playtime in summer. The song has some country-esque vocal arrangement, with some peeping hanging chair, washboard brushes and is accompanied by Malcolm LeMaistre (ex-ISB) and Pete Baynes on banjo and ukulele, giving a slightly old timy feeling. A bluesy recorder solo walks away with the ending. The song is taken from Emily’s first album from 2007, which is going to be re-released in Germany soon.
The second song, by Hélène Renaut has something of a sweet melancholic French song (although she’s from Brittany, currently San Fransisco), and this isn’t sad really. This track with picking, relaxed drumming, glockenspiel, has a child friendliness which seems to present the sweetness of summer. The singer has been a member of Skygreen Leopards and part of Donovan Quinn’s band The 13th Month. The song was released before on the interesting ‘we are all circling the stars’ compilation.
Limited to 300 numbered copies.
