It is a bit of a shame but I find it difficult to describe well the warm and lush late evening gig core music of Silver Pines, fronted by vocalist Stefanie Franciotti. The arrangements really suit the music and songs well, a combination of acoustic guitars (picking or strummed) combined with background sliding electric guitar, soft and smooth laid back percussion, contrasting with tambourine and additional singing saw here and there, with glockenspiel and trumpet on the last track...

The five songs were performed by Stefanie Franciotti, Lauren McMurray, Austin Youngblood, Jesse Jenkins, Kyle Dixon, Adam Jones, Zac Roesch, Justin Goers and Stephen Orsak.

The band clearly evolved to a more psychedelic style which hangs in between the songs, like improvisations, or which linger on with the songs, the kind of somewhat droning and slowly stretched, looming sort of fuzzed psychedelia, leaning towards a slow jam, while the songs sound either romantic, slightly melancholic or like lullabies, sung by solo voice or dual vocals, slightly deformed lead voice. Besides electric guitars, percussion there’s also organ to it. The mood is like a late night calm jam, new Americana which becomes moodily independent, above all, this is a mood thing.

I still think it is a shame that people still chose to make custom cdrs instead of a more expensive but better quality limited CD edition. More than once, although not with each listen, I could hear these typical soundpeak errors of ticks, of echoing ticks in the recordings, making me think also how long this album will keep ok on my shelves before I am no longer able to play it?
