A prove that I apreciate Tamia's early private release, voice experiments recordings presented at an electronic music festival, is that I used one of the tracks as intro for my radioshow for years, partly mixed with fragments of Stockausen's "Stimmung" (second version). I know she privately released at least 2 cds, of which I found one, and know about another one which was bought in front of me by someone else on a fair.

Also her first cooperation with percussionist Pierre Favre is brilliant. It is a unique, almost meditative excursion. Also the colourful tone-rich percussion of Pierre Favre is simply briliant. The duo tried to redo such a cooperation almost 15 years later. This still sounds ok, but the second album misses the real magic and streched strength of the first one.

Note and beware : there's at least one other, American pop voice with the same name.

I hope I can find a contact for Tamia some day. Her work defentitely diserves a reissue or prerhaps even a whole box set. Two works I didn't hear yet :
