Radio show description in playlist : "The fragility in this album is very nice, and so is the cello addition. Christian inspired music. I like very much the title track.

According to 'Rockinworld' : "Reissue of extremely scarce Irish folk- rock LP. Rocked out trad. sound, many original songs, male & female vocals. Definitely a Spriguns-like sound."
Label comments : Caedmon's privately issued 1978 LP, has since it's rediscovery in 1992, been established as an expensive collectors item, rated as the best folk-rock album ever made, perhaps 2nd only to “Mellow Candle”. The sublime sound of Caedmon results from an unusual blend of styles, the fragile female vocals, admirable use of tension and atmosphere, savage fuzz-guitar, art rock leanings - everything from exquisite understatement to frantic show-off musicianship - a classic, by golly!

2 votes : ***** as essential, 2 votes *** as nothing special but still good

2. The live versions might be slightly better. Recording quality is not the best, but good enough.

According to the Bruton Town list voting :one vote as "**" limited appeal

PrivateCaedmon : A chicken to hug (UK,2010)**°'

Caedmon made one LP in the seventies of Christian folk with a pastoral strength. After all these years the same band is back with a new album.
It is especially or perhaps only the first track which completely recalls that early track of praising the Lord with delicate emotion, with a sound where the band didn't lose any of its previous qualities.  It is also because the female singer has such a suitable fragile voice for that purpose. Most songs are led by male vocals. Two third of the tracks have a more modern soft folk-rock backing, with a clear and definite more podium-based sound, enjoyable and entertaining but also light, with slower parts and more up tempo, also light rhythms, rockier if necessary. Just a few tracks are song based acoustic tracks. The songs reveal new stories to tell. I guess most of them will work best and most sympathetic live, especially for the folk-rock setting. One humoristic live moment was also added to give an idea.
