Psychedelic Folk presents : ---------------------------------------------------- -----------------Red Morning Chorus--------------------------------------------- Other press review: * Ptolemaic Terrascope Issue 32 : " Red Morning Chorus' CD turned up at Terrascope Towers out of the blue (oh, har har) a while back, unannounced and clad in the simplest of card sleeves, and immediately begged further investigation purely on the strength of the songs. Hearing them is like discovering each frame of your newly developed film features a pristine snapshot of a wraith; whereas at the first listening you're only vaguely aware of being in the presence of something extraordinary, maybe the vaguest of shivers or a glance over one's shoulder to show for it, suddenly something emerges which can only be described as an essence of pure psychedelic whimsy. Red Morning Chorus pepper the clouds with pristine latterday folk set to a background of haunting tape loops 4nd found-sounds, colouring in the rainbow with hushed vocals and inspired musicianship, including some wonderful middle-Eastern flourishes. Trust me, this stuff is truly extraordinary and it can surely only be a matter of time before they're snapped up by some enterprising label and given a double album's worth of vinyl to get all expansive over. Turns out the chaps involved are friends of the Terrascope's much lauded artist Iker Spozio now why doesn't that surprise me? And to cap it all the album commences with a snatch of Ken Nordine's 'Delphinium Day', how cool is "that" ? (Phil) * My own review -(published at http://psychedelicfolk.homestead.com/acidfolkreview.html)-: Private Red Morning Chorus : demo (US,2002)*** (mini cd) " Very trance like textured gentle psych folk, dreamy on the edge of falling into beauty sleep like Eustachian echoed moods. Song based throat placed whispery vocals. Mostly to the basic use of acoustic guitar, sitar and other acoustic instruments, enriched with still to the essential electronic and tape trickery. Possibly not essential, but still very nice. Hard to choose tracks for airplay. Best listen when loud enough." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Contact Address : People The Sky peepthesky@yahoo.com Attn: Red Morning Chorus PO Box 13239 Toledo, OR 43613 USA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intro page of psychedelic folk music : http://psychedelicfolk.homestead.com/index.html with more pages if you go inside.
